Vani Vachi ist eine DJ und Produzentin aus Kiew. Als Teil der vor dem Krieg pulsierenden und beständig wachsenden Underground Rave Szene der ukrainischen Hauptstadt, ist Vani Vachi Resident der legendären queeren Partyreihe “VESELKA”– ukranisch für “Regenbogen”. “VESELKA” war ein Spielplatz für die LGBTQI-Rave-Community, die als “… spontaneous, playful, and rough, sexy and unruly, unbelievably beautiful and melodic, like a wild flower hidden in the depth of the woods away from unwanted eyes, [where one can] feel completely safe.”* beschrieben und gefeiert wird.
Vani Vachis Sets sind unvorhersehbar und eklektisch, geprägt von Breakbeats, IDM, frühem Trance, klassischen Acid-Baselines und Techno, dabei immer kompromisslos tanzbar, geprägt von aufregenden Metamorphosen. Für einen Vorgeschmack empfehlen wir Vanis HÖR Berlin Set vom Dezember letzten Jahres.
Neben ihrem Gig bei der Balance Club Night im IfZ wird Vani am Sonntag im Rahmen des Diskursprogramms beim Panel: “Global solidarity – How can Club Culture support networks globally?” im Festivalzentrum ihre Erfahrungen und Perspektiven teilen.

Vani Vachi is a DJ and producer from Kyiv. As a part of the Ukrainian capital’s vibrant and growing pre-war underground rave scene, Vani Vachi is a resident of the legendary queer party series „VESELKA“ (Ukrainian; rainbow). „VESELKA“ was a playground for the LGBTQIA+ rave community, which was described and celebrated as „… spontaneous, playful, and rough, sexy and unruly, unbelievably beautiful and melodic, like a wild flower hidden in the depth of the woods away from unwanted eyes, [where one can] feel completely safe“*.
Vani Vachi’s sets are unpredictable and eclectic, influenced by breakbeats, IDM, early trance, classic acid baselines and techno, yet always uncompromisingly dancy, marked by exciting metamorphoses. We recommend Vani’s HÖR Berlin set from December last year as a preface to their set at Balance.
In addition to her gig at the Balance Club Night at IfZ, Vani will share her experiences and perspectives as part of the discourse programme at the panel, „Global solidarity – How can Club Culture support networks globally?“ at the Festival Center on Sunday.
