“I dance behind the decks, and want people to dance very hard when they listen to me play”, mit dieser Haltung richtet Juba derzeit extrem erfolgreich das Spotlight auf Bassmusik gekoppelt mit Afrobeats, Gqom, Kuduro, Afrohouse, Highlife und dekonstruierte Soundscapes, die wiederum neue, einzigartige Rhythmen produzieren. Ihre Sets sind energiegeladen, progressiv und anspruchsvoll arrangiert, hier und da gibt es immer wieder Referenzen auf bekannte Banger, die das Publikum zum Schwitzen und Beben bringen. Für ihr Boiler Room und HÖR Berlin-Set gibt es noch kein passendes Flammen-Emoticon! Wir feiern Juba jedoch nicht nur für ihre Musik und DJ-Skills, sondern auch für ihre politische Arbeit. Seit Jahren teilt sie ihr Wissen und ihre Skills in Podcasts, um FLINTA* in der Musikindustrie zu unterstützen, Sexismus in der Szene anzuprangern und an den vorherrschenden Strukturen zu rütteln.

„I dance behind the decks, and want people to dance very hard when they listen to me play“, this attitude helps Juba, who is currently extremely successful in turning the spotlight on bass music mixed with afrobeats, gqom, kuduro, afrohouse, highlife and deconstructed soundscapes, while producing new, unique rhythms. Her sets are energetic, progressive and sophisticated arrangements with some references to well-known bangers that make the audience sweat and shake. There is no suitable flame emoji for her Boiler Room and HÖR Berlin set yet! However, we celebrate Juba not only for her music and DJ skills, but also for her political work. She has been sharing her knowledge and skills via podcasts for years already. All this in order to support female and LGBTQIA+ artists in the music industry, to denounce sexism in the scene and to shake the prevailing structures.
