Shalaka hat mehrere Jahre Erfahrung als Fotograf*in und Bildredakteur*in in der unabhängigen indischen Musikszene. Zuvor hat they mit verschiedenen Organisationen wie Breakthrough India, Jhatkaa.org, Hank Nunn Institute und Gaysi an Kampagnen zu den Themen Queerness und psychische Gesundheit gearbeitet.
